Eucalyptus polyanthemos (red box) is a small to medium sized tree occurring extensively across inland south eastern Australia,. This species has a dome shoped canopy of greyish 'rounded' leaves, and a trunk can that be sculptured whilst the bark is quite smooth. It is a particulary hardy tree which will thrive on dry shallow infertile soils.

Eucalyptus polyanthemos has become quite popular in recent years as a tree for street planting and for amenity plantings in public areas because of its aesthetic appeal and small size.

Euc. polyanthemos has white flowers from early spring till summer.
