Eucalyptus leucoxylon var leucoxylon (yellow gum) is a medium sized tree growing up to 30 metres tall where the base of the tree appears fibrous giving way to smooth mottled white-grey bark developing an open canopy.
This species occurs over a wide natural range in South Eastern Australia and is often mistaken for river red gum. It can be easily distinguished as it has urn shaped fruit capsules about 1cm accross. It also occurs on ridges and hilly undulating areas
Eucalyptus leucoxylon var leucoxylon flowers during autumn and winter, they can be red, pink or red but almost always white.

Generally, the concentrated clusters of markers represent the geographical range where this species occurs naturally. Outlying markers and geographically disassociated markers represent observations of the species in cultivation and/or recorded in herbaria etc.
